Privacy policy

Store Locator OpenMaps is installed by merchants to show their store locations to their customers. This page explains what data the app handles.

Data from merchants

When a merchant installs the app, we store the store locations, filters, and settings they enter or import (name, address, coordinates, phone, email, website, opening hours) in our database, tied to their shop. We also access the merchant's existing Shopify Locations (read-only) if they choose to sync from Settings > Locations, and standard OAuth session data needed to operate the app.

Data from customers

The storefront store locator does not collect or store any customer personal data. If a customer allows browser geolocation to sort results by distance, that location is used only inside their own browser to sort the already-loaded list of stores — it is never sent to our servers. Search text a customer types is likewise used only to filter the list locally in their browser.

Third parties

Map tiles are loaded directly by the customer's browser from OpenFreeMap (OpenStreetMap data), which may see the customer's IP address as part of that request, the same way any map provider's tiles would. The "Get directions" link, if clicked, opens Google Maps in a new tab.

Data deletion

Uninstalling the app deletes all of a shop's stores, filters, and settings from our database, generally within 48 hours.
